These images show the armoured trucks that have been found by authorities from one of Mexico’s most notorious cartel groups.

The trucks were taken by the Ministry of Military Defence and the National Guard after in the Aguililla municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacan.

They are reported to belong to the notorious New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG) and the exact date they were found is unclear, however, it was first reported on Friday 18th September.

The Alguililla municipality is considered as a high-risk area as it is being disputed by the CJNG, Los Viagras (The Viagras) and Caballeros Templarios (Templar Knights).

The images show the large armoured vehicles police seized with camouflaged patterns, normally associated with the military.

One picture was obtained from a mobile phone left by a suspected member of the CJNG who fled after a previous gunfight with cops and left his mobile behind. It shows the armoured bulldozer truck with ‘Jalisco’ written on it.

The criminal group is alleged to have used the vehicles for armed attacks and ambushes.

The trucks apparently have several areas where shooters are able to discharge their weapon from within the vehicle and others have a turret where larger weapons can be used.

They were apparently found abandoned, however, it is unclear why they were left.

Despite having had many losses in the form of arrests and deaths in recent weeks for the CJNG, authorities fear they are spreading their control over the neighbouring Coalcoman and Tepalcatepec municipalities.

Police remain on high alert in the area as locals report seeing cars on fires and the presence of CJNG vehicles.

It is unclear what the detained suspects have been charged with.
