Cop Suspended For Not Doing Enough To Stop Dog Killing Pet Cat In Street

This is the moment a Chinese cop’s Shiba Inu dog kills a black cat in the street, leading to him being suspended until he addresses the backlash the incident provoked online.

The police captain, surnamed Liu, was walking his dog in the city of Zigong in the Chinese province of Sichuan when it suddenly attacked a cat and ended up killing it.

The incident was filmed by a passerby and posted on social media where netizens accused the cop of only half-heartedly trying to pull his Shiba Inu away from the cat.

After the video was widely shared online, a local resident claimed the cat was hers and that it recently gave birth to four kittens.

Meanwhile, the dog owner was quickly identified as a captain of the city’s Traffic Police department, according to China News.

In the footage, the dog owner tells a filming woman that he “cannot get to it” while his dog latches onto the limp cat, and she accuses him of not doing enough to stop it.

He only appears to lightly smack the dog and eventually pull it away by which time the cat seems to have already died.

According to reports, the city Traffic Police department has suspended Liu from his duties and ordered him to address the criticism the incident sparked online.
