This is the moment a selfless policeman on his way home from work stops to catch a woman plummeting from a window above and manages to break her fall leaving her with only minor injuries.

Officer Pu Zhuoying was called into the side street after a resident spotted the woman sitting in her window and preparing to jump following an argument with her boyfriend.

CCTV footage from the city of Lhasa, capital of Tibet in south-western China, shows the veteran officer look up at the residential building when the woman suddenly jumps at just after 3am local time on 30th June.

She lands on top of the officer and both are knocked to the ground in the attempt to catch her.

But, according to local police, Pu’s efforts helped break her fall and she suffered only minor injuries as a result.

The policeman, meanwhile, has been diagnosed with minor head injuries and has been put on leave in order to rest.

It is unclear how many floors the woman, who was reportedly drunk, fell.

Officer Pu recalled: “A pedestrian came running to me saying a woman living across from him was going to jump.

“I didn’t overthink it and ran over. I was only there for a few moments when she jumped.”
