This footage seen more than 15 million times online shows a nursery school teacher climbing into bed with one of his pupils and then carrying the boy away off camera.

The teacher surnamed Zhang has been arrested by police in Donghe District in the city of Baotou, which is in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous, with authorities saying he has confessed to child sex abuse offences.

The shocking incident reportedly happened over a period of at least six weeks at a branch of the Xiaojiaoya Kindergarten – Mandarin for ‘Little Feet’ – in the Prideof Times Residential District.

The alleged offences came to light when parent Mr Bao shared the footage, which he says shows his four-year-old son being repeatedly targeted by Zhang between 20th May and 2nd July.

In the video, the teacher can be seen climbing into the boy’s bed on one occasion and even tucking himself under his quilt.

Zhang is also shown carrying the boy out of the classroom. This happens as at least 10 other boys and girls nap in the classroom between 12 and 2pm every day.

Mr Bao told local media: “On 2nd July while my son was sleeping, the male teacher lay on his bed and molested him.

“When he fell asleep, he carried him into a blind spot off camera. He took him to the bathroom and sexually abused him for about 20 minutes.

“All of the footage you see is off my son. He sleeps in a different spot every day.”

When asked why he thought his son was targeted, Mr Bao sighed and said: “I really don’t know.

“The teacher said he was very fond of my son.”

Donghe District police said in a statement on 4th July that Zhang had confessed to child sex abuse offences and that he remained in custody.

The nursery school has been suspended pending “reforms”, the police said.

Further investigations are ongoing. There are no details regarding the nature of the alleged abuse.
