This is the moment gunmen open fire on a passing cop patrol vehicle in the street and kill a police commander and his bodyguard.
The incident took place at around 9pm on Altos Norte Street in the city of Ojuelos in the western Mexican state of Jalisco when Commander Everardo Prado and his bodyguard were approaching the scene in a police pickup truck.
According to reports, around nine armed men in at least two vehicles opened fire on the cop vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The police commander died on the spot while his unnamed bodyguard was taken to a nearby hospital where later died of his wounds.
The local authorities are investigating the incident, but have yet to identify any suspects, according to reports.
In the black and white CCTV footage, a car is seen approaching a crossroads and stopping in the middle of the street.
The police pickup truck appears to be unable to pass and it stops in the road.
Meanwhile, at least one gunman is seen unloading their weapon into the cop vehicle.
Last week, the security commissioner of Lagos de Moreno in the state of Jalisco, Vany Rodriguez, was reportedly killed along with his two bodyguards.
Local media said that 23 police officers have been killed in the Mexican state so far this year.
