A brute who allegedly blasted his wife with a gun before stuffing her body in a closet while their four children were at home has been charged with murder.

Evil Mohammad Alkurdi, 38, did not try to resist as he was seized outside the family apartment in the city of Chandler, in the US state of Arizona, on 14th March.

Police tried to revive the mum of four but to no avail.

A neighbour told police how he had seen Alkurdi – a citizen of Jordan – walking out of the home. Chillingly, Alkurdi had simply told him, “I shot her”, before strolling away.

Crime scene investigators recovered a firearm from inside the residence. They said two shots were fired, but it is not clear if both or just one hit the victim.

Alkurdi, said police, had only bought the weapon two days before the alleged murder and had purchased the bullets just hours prior to the shooting.

He is reported to have a history of domestic violence, with police telling how he once threatened his wife with a knife.

Alkurdi was remanded in custody shortly after his arrest. He has since been charged with one count of first-degree murder and could face child endangerment charges.

Chandler Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “On March 14th, at 1123 AM, the Chandler Police Department received a report of a domestic violence-related shooting at an apartment complex in the 2000 W. Frye Rd. area.

“Upon arrival, police located a male suspect outside the apartment along with his four children, who are under the age of 9.

“The suspect, Mohammad Alkurdi, 38 years old, was placed under arrest without incident.

“Officers located the mother of the children inside the family’s apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.

“Lifesaving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The victim’s identity is not being released at this time, as notification to family members in other countries is still being conducted.

“Mohammad Alkurdi was booked into jail on charges of 1st Degree Homicide. Additional charges for child endangerment are also being investigated.”
