This photo of a Jesus Christ-like figure with his hands outstretched beaming down through the cloudy sky in Argentina has sent religious netizens into a frenzy.
The picture was taken by Monica Aramayo in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy in the north-western Argentine province of Jujuy and widely shared on social media.
In the photo, a Christ-like figure based on the European portrayal commonly seen in Renaissance artwork is apparent in the moody skyline.
Sunrays beaming through the thick clouds form a figure with its arms outstretched looking over the city of Jujuy similar to the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Local media said that the figure even appeared to be wearing a crown of thorns associated with the Crucifixion of Jesus.
Netizens had a lot to say about the weather phenomenon. ‘Mariela Romano’ commented: “The Lord will soon come for us all and we should be ready.”
‘Carlos Daniel Nieva’ remarked: “Thanks for the image that allows us to keep on our path and have a better hope for tomorrow.”
‘Maria Veronica Salcedo’ said: “Beautiful photo, God blesses and protects us.”
‘Lucho Bueno’ said: “Stunning appearance, it must be a message for us to be more helpful.”
‘Romina Salinas’ wrote: “If Jesus came back, he would make us all disappear because we are worth nothing. I personally only see the sun coming through the clouds, but people see what they want to see.”
