CHOPPER RESCUE: Helicopter Plucks Injured Climbers From 28k-ft Peak After Death Avalanche

This is the moment when a rescue helicopter plucks injured victims to safety following a killer avalanche on one of the world’s highest mountains.

Many other climbers were said to be “seriously” injured in the horrific snowfall near the mountain’s peak.

Footage shows the chopper perched just inches above the steep mountainside as it hovers just feet away from a group of stricken mountaineers on Mount Manaslu.

Manaslu is part of the Nepalese Himalayas and, at 8,163 metres (26,781 feet) above sea level, is the eighth-highest mountain in the world.

Moments later, the aircraft can be seen taking off and flying above clouds into the distance.

The clip was filmed by Pasang Rinzee Sherpa, 35, from Nepal – a “climbing guide and photographer and videographer for High Altitude for last few years”.

Pasang told Newsflash: “I took this video after an avalanche triggered near Camp 3 of Manaslu.

“I was there to help the injured climbers, where one died and many injured with some serious head injuries.”

Pasang – a seasoned mountaineer – revealed: “I climbed Everest for two times, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu each time.

“Ama Dablam three times, Himlung Himal, Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan, Muztagh Ata in China. And Cholatse, Mera, Lobuche, and Island Peak.”

Pasang had posted his video to Instagram – where he boasts 11,600 followers – with the caption: “Helicopter performing a victim’s evacuations flight despite bad weather conditions after an avalanche triggered near Camp 3 at the elevation of 6,888m of Manaslu on 26th September 2022.
