This is the horror moment a four-year-old boy is run over after he sprints in front of a bus and the driver fails to spot him as he turns around to chat with a passenger.

The incident occurred in the Inegol district of Bursa province in Turkey and was recorded by the bus’ security cameras.

In the video, the bus can be seen making its way down a road when four-year-old Yasin Ensar Dayan runs out in front of it.

The driver does not slow down and the bus runs straight over the youngster as a woman can be heard screaming.

The driver, identified in reports by the initials Y.Y., then brings the vehicle to a halt and onlookers can be seen sprinting to the scene and screaming.

Another angle shows how the driver was not facing the road at the time of the accident as he was speaking to a passenger. The bus jilts into the air as it runs over the boy and the driver then realises there is a problem and stops the bus before walking off it.

Local media report the boy died at the scene and his body was taken to the Inegol State Hospital’s morgue.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the incident and the driver has been detained. It is unclear if he has been charged.
