This is the shocking moment a thug repeatedly hits his wife on a bus reportedly telling passengers “she is my wife and I can do what I want to her” before cops are called and let him go.

The incident was filmed by a bus passenger in the southern Turkish province of Mersin and posted on social media where it has been widely circulated but police have now released the suspect.

In the footage, the thug in a black top is seen slapping a woman hard around the face as he demands “open the door”.

He then appears to hit his wife at least twice more before the clip ends.

The netizen who uploaded the video to social media said: “I witnessed this incident this morning. We intervened, but the man started insulting us as well. He said ‘she is my wife and I can do what I want to her’ and continued to slap her.”

The witness added: “Despite the bus driver reporting the man to the police, and despite the fact that he beat the woman right in front of us, he was released. I am still in shock. Shame on you!”

Meanwhile, netizen ‘XXX300’ commented: “What do you mean ‘she is my wife’? She is not your property, she is your partner. The guy deserves to be pummelled.”

‘Fr’ said: “What kind of man is he? Where is his conscience? I am speechless.”

An anonymous netizen added: “This guy deserves to be lynched. I hope his wife’s family gets involved and beats him up like he did to her.”
