CAT OFF A TOP FLOOR ROOF: Outrage As Boy Flings Puss From Tower Block

This is the shocking moment a young boy at the top of a high-rise building cold-heartedly flings a cat more than 300ft to its death.

The shocking footage apparently happened at a council flat in the island state of Singapore on 14th December.

The 10-year-old boy – not named in local media – is seen in the foyer in front of lifts at the Housing and Development Board (HDB) block on the 22nd floor of Block 186 Boon Lay Avenue in the city.

The footage starts with the lift doors opening and the boy coming out of the lift running after the cat and picking it up.

After peering over the edge, he then throws the cat up into the air, where it then disappears out the window and plunges 22 storeys to the ground.

The cat’s desperate miaow can be heard as it disappears over the edge, followed seconds later by a loud crash.

Chillingly the boy shows not a trace of emotion or remorse.

When the footage was shared online, the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said they had filed a complaint with the Animal And Veterinary Service (AVS) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) and added in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “We are deeply disturbed by the actions captured in the footage.

“Animal abuse and cruelty have no place in our society. We stand strongly against animal cruelty and are working closely with the authorities on the case for the next course of action.”

The cat was apparently a stray that was looked after by several people in the block and had been nicknamed ‘Panther’.

The footage was shared by a local woman whose social media profile name is ‘Feline’ with the caption: “Sickening and disgusting behaviour. Serial killers usually start with abusing animals first.

The cat apparently died as a result of the fall and the boy denied any responsibility until a caretaker confronted him and the family with the footage.

He allegedly then claimed he did it because he was frustrated at his family for not looking after him properly.

Investigators are reportedly looking into the fact that at least eight other instances involving cats falling from high buildings had been logged and it was unclear if these were accidental or deliberate.

A petition has been started demanding that the boy be punished, although at the age of 10 he may be too young to face any consequences.

In Singapore, a juvenile is regarded as a young person aged between seven and 16, and as a result, can be bought before the juvenile court if they commit crime.

Only children aged under the age of seven are immune from criminal liability.

However for youngsters aged between seven and 12, the court will decide on a case-by-case basis whether they are mature enough to understand the nature and consequences of what they have done.
