Three heavily-sedated cows have been found crammed inside a Honda Odyssey after their weight caused a tyre puncture forcing the bungling rustlers to flee the scene on foot.

The three cows were found inside the car in the rural area of Chini in the western Malaysian state of Pahang in a weak condition caused by heavy sedation, according to local media.

Police superintendent Mohd Razli Mohd Yusof said they received a call from a resident about a suspicious Honda Odyssey owner at around 7.30am.

The police arrived on the scene and reportedly found the abandoned Honda Odyssey without licence plates and with a burst tyre.

It is believed the weight of the three drugged cows caused the tyre to burst and the suspected rustlers were forced to flee the scene on foot.

Yusof said: “The police monitored the area for 30 minutes but no one came back. With the help of the locals in the area, we managed to find the owner of the cows, a 65-year-old man.”

The local authorities have yet to make any arrests as the investigation into the bungled rustling attempt continues.
