Bullied Schoolboy, 11, Dies After Female Classmates Swing Door Onto His Head

This 11-year-old schoolboy has died after his female classmates allegedly hit him on the head with a door, cracking his skull and causing internal bleeding.

The victim has been named as Juan Martin Garzon from the Colombian city of Manizales.

The suspects have been identified as three of his classmates, all girls, who had allegedly been bullying him for some time. Their names have not been divulged.

The schoolgirls are accused of forcefully hitting Juan Martin on the head with a door, cracking his skull and causing fluid to enter his brain, which proved fatal.

The youngster did not succumb immediately. It was the day after the incident that he felt pain in one eye and in his forehead, which turned into a headache and a fever.

A few days later, he began vomiting, his heart rate soared, and he even lost mobility in one of his legs. However, doctors were unable to ascertain the cause of his symptoms.

Juan Martin later told his school about the bullying, and the school then informed his devastated mother, Diana Garzon.

The youngster’s condition continued to worsen, and he underwent several operations. However, despite doctors’ best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, 11th March.

The authorities are reported to be investigating the case. It is currently unclear if the girls or the school authorities face any charges.

The Secretary of Education of Manizales has reportedly been visiting schools in the city to hold talks and training sessions on preventing bullying.
