This is the moment curiosity gets the better of a ginger cat after it puts its head into a bowl and is unable to free itself.

The funny scene was filmed in the city of Wuxi in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu and the clip has been widely circulated on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is known as in China.

In the footage, the curious cat is seen sticking its head into the white bowl before being unable to free itself.

The owner walks in and starts laughing at the sight of the struggling moggy before filming the scene, removing the bowl, and petting the animal to calm it down.

According to local reports, the cat owner, name not reported, was driving his younger brother to nursery school when he received a call from their dad to inform them that the cat was at home with its head stuck in the bowl.

The owner rushed home and found his cat struggling to remove the bowl from its head on a dining room chair.

However, before helping his cat, the first thing the young man did was remove his phone to film the hapless feline.

After enjoying a chortle at the cat’s expense, the man lifted the bowl from its head and then gave it a cuddle.

Afterwards, the owner said that the cat had stayed in the jar for about 15 minutes before he returned home.
