A court in the city of Douglasville, in the US state of Georgia, heard that after the injury at an Intown Suites motel, little Amir Porter’s dad Devante Porter, 23, lied to emergency services.

He apparently claimed that the boy had hit his head on the fridge, but when the medics arrived, they noticed that it appeared to be a bullet wound, and then saw a bullet hole in the ceiling.

The revelation prompted an angry reaction from the child’s mother, Ciera Scott, who said that the delay could end up costing her son his life.

Police later discovered that the dad had been partying all night at the motel in Lithia Springs together with 29-year-old Jermecia Martin and another man who had left before the cops arrived.

Also missing was the gun.

Both Porter and Martin have been charged with: Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children 2nd degree, Reckless Conduct, False Statements, and Tampering with Evidence.
