30 Bodies Found In Mexican Mass Grave In CJNG Heartland

The Mexican authorities have discovered a hidden mass grave containing 30 bodies in an area controlled by Mexico’s biggest cartel, the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion.

The bodies of 24 men and six women have been found in a mass grave in the El Zapote area in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zuniga, in the western Mexican state of Jalisco while the authorities were working to find missing people.

Of the 30 bodies, only nine have been identified, eight of whom were had an open case with the prosecutors specialised in missing people.

All of them were reported as missing between September and October.

The authorities are working to identify the other 21 bodies and the state prosecution state said in a press statement “along with this discovery, six bags with evidence were found too and were sent to the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences in order to be checked”.

Prosecutors had discovered the property with the grave after 15 people, including three minors, were arrested in a warehouse of the colony Toluquilla where eight kidnapped people were found.

Local media report that Jalisco state is one of the places in Mexico with the largest presence of the dangerous Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), considered by Mexican authorities as the biggest criminal organisation in the country.

Local platform Dead People Without Identification of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences report there is a list of 812 bodies of people who have not been claimed by loved ones from 19th September 2018 until 29th October 2019.
