Brave Lorry Driver Outruns Landslide In The Nick Of Time

This is the moment a gutsy lorry driver manages to dodge and outrun a landslide at the last second just before it covers a road in debris.

The heart-stopping incident was captured by a traffic camera in the county of Xingwen in China’s south-western province of Sichuan on 3rd November.

The footage shows the heavy goods vehicle travelling along Bowang Avenue and entering a junction when the retaining wall to the left suddenly gives way.

Large amounts of earth and concrete debris begin spilling onto the road surface, leaving the lorry driver desperately swerving away from the landslide at the last moment.

The alert lorry driver speeds out of frame and just manages to escape the landslide unharmed, while street lights are felled and the road goes dark, the video shows.

Officials with the Xingwen County Emergency Management Office said Bowang Avenue was completely cut off from traffic due to the landslide.

Oo one was injured during the accident, and work was being done to clear the road of debris and reopen the thorough to traffic, they added.

The cause of the landslide was still being investigated at the time of writing.
