This is the horrific moment when a child rides up the wrong side of a mall escalator and plunges down on top of a woman’s head, knocking her senseless.

CCTV footage from the shopping centre in the city of Baghdad in Iraq shows the boy travelling up the outside of the escalator while clinging onto the handrail.

As he nears the top, a man can be seen running up the stairs behind him.

But as the boy loses his grip, he plunges 30 feet down to the floor below.

Astonishingly, his fall is broken by a woman shopping for make-up as he lands on top of her head, knocking her to the ground.

She falls onto her backside and then slumps to the floor as people – including the boy’s mother – form a circle around her and the child.

Amazingly, the boy is up on his feet almost instantly while passers-by check on the woman’s condition after the accident on 12th February.

Local media only reported that the boy survived without serious injuries and that the woman was knocked unconscious.

At the time of writing, the clip had racked up tens of thousands of views on social media, where netizens criticised the boy’s parents for not keeping an eye on him.
