This is the moment a seven-year-old boy slides down a hill on a sledge and rolls under the wheel of a passing lorry.
The boy, name and age not reported, was sledging on a roadside hill in the city of Gadzhievo in the north-western Russian region of Murmansk Oblast on Wednesday, 22nd December, when he was run over by the lorry.
In the CCTV footage of the incident, the youngster is seen whizzing down the snowy hill as the lorry passes along the road at the bottom.

The lorry driver appears unaware that the boy is sliding under his vehicle and is unable to take evasive action as the boy is crushed by a back wheel.
After the heavy vehicle rolls over the boy’s body, the driver notices something is not right and stops the lorry in the road as the video footage comes to an end.
The Regional Investigative Committee of Russia said the boy was hospitalised and was provided with urgent medical treatment. It is unclear what injuries he sustained in the road accident.

While investigating the incident, the Investigative Committee will also coordinate with the local council about assigning authorised areas for skiing and sledging and banning the practice of winter sports in any dangerous spots.
There have been no further updates on the boy’s condition and whether the lorry driver, whose name and age were also unreported in local media reports, will face any penalties over the incident.
The police probe is ongoing.
