This is the moment a five-year-old boy and his granddad cross the road holding hands and are hit by a driver, who fatally crushes the poor lad under her front wheel.

The incident took place on Huzur Street in the district of Inegol in the Turkish province of Bursa on 10th January.

Omer Faruk Gundogdu, 5, and his grandfather Abdurrahman Gundogdu, 65, were crossing the street when motorist Fatma Vural, 45, turned into the road and rammed them both.

In the footage, the young boy is seen gazing up at his grandfather as they hold hands and walk across the street.

A silver car turns into their path and driver apparently fails to brake, knocking both of them onto the bonnet before the young lad slides under the vehicle’s front wheel.

The driver eventually stops, but seconds too late as the boy is reportedly trapped under the wheel.

According to reports, onlookers rushed over to help and managed to move the car off the boy.

The emergency services arrived and first aid was given to the victim, who was seriously injured. The boy’s condition worsened in the ambulance and paramedics had to perform CPR on him on the way to the hospital.

After being admitted with multiple fractures and severe bruising, little Omer passed away despite the best efforts of hospital doctors.

The boy’s grandfather only suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, Fatma Vural was placed under arrest and the police investigation into her is ongoing.
