This is the moment a 23-year-old man hangs onto a tree for dear life after he and his girlfriend were swept off their motorbike during a flood in Mexico. Although the man in the video survived his 19-year-old girlfriend friend was dragged away and was found dead days later.

The man in the footage identified only as 23-year-old Dennis ‘K’ was riding his motorbike with his girlfriend 19-year-old Ana Karen Garcia Diaz when the pair were knocked off the bike by a wall of floodwater in Tlalnepantla, just north of Mexico city last Sunday (29th August).

While Dennis was able to grab onto a tree and eventually pull himself to safety but Ana was dragged away by the torrent of water and her body was found today (2nd September).
