Boris Becker’s 86-year-old mum has said she will board a plane from Germany one last time to see her son in prison.

Elvira Becker had previously said she would no longer make any long trips due to her advanced age.

But now she is said to be worried that she may never see her son again and so has apparently resolved to visit him at HMP Wandsworth.

An anonymous friend told German media: “At her age, you never know what’s going to happen.”

Elvira reportedly collapsed when Southwark Crown Court found her son Boris, 54, guilty of hiding assets related to his 2017 insolvency last month.

And she is said to have been worried sick during his first couple of weeks behind bars, although she is now believed to be more at peace now that he has been moved to the prison’s ‘VIP’ Trinity Wing.

Elvira has maintained a close relationship with her son through all his ups and downs. She said: “We always got along well. No matter what happens – he is and will always be my son.”

Boris is said to have last spoken with his mum – who still lives in Leimen, south-western Germany, where the former tennis champ was born – from prison on Mother’s Day, which was celebrated in Germany on 8th May this year.

It is not known if she already has her tickets.
