Beautiful Female Explosives Worker Charred To Death In Dynamite Explosion At Informal Mine

This beautiful young woman who worked as a ‘blaster’ at her parents’ explosives firm has tragically lost her life after she was burned to death in a fireball caused by a dynamite explosion at a mine.

Daniella Trajano Dalff, 28, was one of the few women working in this profession in Brazil, and she reportedly loved her work.

However, she was tragically killed in the explosion that took place at a garimpo – a small-scale, informal gold, diamond, and tin mining camp – in the Serrinha region of the west-central Brazilian state of Mato Grosso on the morning of Friday, 20th August.

The president of the Garimpeiros (independent prospectors for minerals) Cooperative, 49-year-old Mario Lucier Caldeira, was also charred to death in the explosion.

The explosion caused a fire in the area, which the fire brigade then brought under control. The firemen then had to isolate the area after finding a large quantity of explosives still in the mine.

The firemen found the two charred bodies at the scene, which were only identifiable after examination. When dynamite explodes, it causes not only a blast but also a superheated fireball, which caused the two bodies to be badly burned.

A police tactical unit dispatched to the scene – which lies 18 kilometres (11 mi) from the municipality of Guaranta do Norte – found 300 kilogrammes (47 st) of emulsion explosives and 1,500 metres (4,921 ft) of detonating cord at the site.

According to the police, the origin of the explosives and the cause of the accident are still unknown.
