Dashboard Cam Captures Manhole Explosion That Sent Bricks Flying In Singapore

This is the moment a manhole cover explodes with a sudden flash of flames and smoke sending bricks flying across the road in Singapore.

The explosion was recorded by a car’s dashcam at a multi-storey car park on Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 in Singapore at 8.00 am today (24th August).

In the footage, the driver, who was not identified, can be seen approaching a car park when a manhole cover explodes just feet away from the car.

The explosion sends bricks surrounding the manhole flying into the air followed by a plume of smoke and dust.

The driver stops for a second to gather himself and guarantee the explosion has come to an end before he turns left into the car park.

The footage was uploaded to Instagram by a netizen ‘sgfollowsall’ with the title ‘Thor is that you? ‘ in reference to the German mythological god associated with lightning and thunder.

The clip has now been seen 72,110 times and received several comments expressing shock at the explosion and pointing out that they found the video’s title entertaining.

The local news site Asia One, reports that the authorities commented on the incident saying that they believe it was an accident.

The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
