This is the shocking moment three drunks launch an unprovoked attack on a middle-aged security guard kicking him over 100 times and throwing bottles at him that left him in a coma with multiple injuries.

The incident took place in the ‘Platinum’ nightclub in the eastern Croatian city of Pozega when the security guard, identified as Ivan Topalovic, 47, was attacked by three men.

CCTV footage of the 2017 incident has been released following the sentencing of the three suspects, and shows the trio hitting the middle-aged security guard as he tries to defend himself from the unprovoked attack.

In footage filmed from a second camera, a small group of men come to the front of the bar and try to break it up, however two of the thugs continue to hit and kick the guard as he cowers on the floor.

At the end of the clip, the 47-year-old is seen escaping behind the bar, but the men chase after him and throw glass bottles.

According to local media, Topalovic was in a coma after the attack but has now fully recovered.

Two attackers, Miroslav Odoljevic and Aleksandar Radonic, were sentenced to six years in prison, while Niko Matisic will serve five and a half years behind bars.

Topalovic said: “While I was lying on the floor, they kicked me over 100 times.”

“Every bone in my face was broken and I suffered brain damage. I cannot see out of my left eye and I have been left without taste.”

He said that Odoljevic, an amateur kick boxer, sent him a message a year after the attack to apologise for what the group did to him.

Topalovic also claimed that the young men were under the influence of alcohol.
