This is the moment a drunk man steals a city bus to get home from the pub before abandoning the huge vehicle in the middle of the road and staggering along the pavement.

The incident was filmed in the city of Ostroleka in the central Polish region of Masovian Voivodeship when the vehicle disappeared from the depot and arrived at the man’s home.

Depot staff called the police when they realised a bus had been taken.

The 29-year-old culprit was reportedly causing chaos on the streets while unaware that his trip was being filmed by the on board camera.

In the footage published by the local police, the suspect is seen standing in front of a bus while looking around. He then walks towards the vehicle.

The next scene shows him parking on a road and blocking-in a silver Audi car before ambling along the pavement to his home.

Police spokesman Krzysztof Kolator said: “Officers have arrested the 29-year-old man who wanted to get home and allegedly stole the vehicle.

“In addition to not being allowed to drive the bus, the man was also drunk.”

According to local media, the suspect has been charged with misappropriation of property, driving without consent and driving under the influence of alcohol.

If found guilty, he reportedly faces up to five years in prison.
