This is the shocking moment when a gunman is shot dead after one of the men he tried to rob turned out to have a pistol of his own.
CCTV footage shows how four pals are sat outside a bar in Belford Roxo, Rio de Janeiro state, south-eastern Brazil on the night of 22nd October.
Two men can be seen walking over to their table before one pulls a gun and points it at the group while his accomplice frisks their pockets for phones and wallets.
But one of the seated men then gets up and walks backwards, with the armed crook following him and pointing his weapon at him threateningly.
But the gunman apparently fails to see him pulling a weapon from the back of his shorts and, before he has time to react, he is shot at point-blank range in the chest.
The crook can be seen falling onto his back on the pavement as his accomplice snatches some valuables from the table and flees.
Meanwhile, the man with the hidden gun then shoots at the floored man at least twice more as he raises his arm, begging him to stop.
Another man from the group then runs over and kicks him twice in the head with his bare foot, revealing a pool of blood underneath him.
According to local media, the shot man died, and police in Belford Roxo are now investigating the case.
At the time of reporting, the identities of those involved in the deadly scuffle were unknown.
