A Florida mum and her blue-haired boyfriend have been arrested after her gorgeous two-year-old little daughter died of a horrific brain trauma.
Little Joy Saint, who turned two years old on 7th November, died at around 12.30am on 14th November.
The police were called to the apartment complex in the town of Panama City Beach in the US state of Florida following a report of a toddler who was unresponsive.
Local media said the girl’s mother Winter Robbins, 24, asked her partner Andrew Joseph Vandergriff to wake up the toddler from her nap and change her nappy.
However, he came back and said the girl was having breathing difficulties and appeared to be suffering from a seizure.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and little Joy was taken to the Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center where she was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain injury.
The toddler was transferred to a hospital in the city of Gainesville where she passed away shortly afterwards.
Vandergriff went on the run and officers arrested him several hours later on charges of dealing in stolen goods and burglary, according to local reports.
The arrest affidavit for Robbins said a search was carried out at the flat on the night of 14th November and officers found drug paraphernalia such as bongs and meth pipes.
Robbins reportedly admitted to smoking meth before waking her daughter as well as leaving her on her own frequently to buy or take drugs.
The mother is being held in custody on a USD-100,000 bond on charges of child neglect, providing false information during an investigation, and tampering with evidence.
Neither defendant is directly charged with the girl’s death at present.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help pay for the girl’s funeral costs.
The investigation is ongoing.
