This is the moment a baby falls out of the pushchair and the unsuspecting Syrian mother steps on its head.
The incident was filmed in the district of Kucukcekmece in the north-western Turkish province of Istanbul on 1st July.
The mother first passed over the baby with the stroller before then stepping on the infant’s head.
The footage shows the baby falling out of the pushchair before the mum wheels it over the tot and then steps on its head.
According to the news site Onedio, the mother immediately took her baby to the nearest hospital after the incident.
Eyewitness Adnan Poyraz, age not disclosed, said, “A woman of Syrian nationality was walking along the pavement in the morning. The baby fell on the ground because the woman did not fasten the belts in the stroller.
“The woman didn’t even notice and she stepped on the baby. She then took the baby to the hospital. We learned that the baby is in good condition.”
After the video was widely shared on social media, enraged netizens called the mother’s actions irresponsible.
One netizen wrote: “Babies that small should be in a pram or carrier not a pushchair. That way, the baby is facing the mother and she can see when something happens. This mum didn’t even fasten the baby’s seatbelt. Very irresponsible, shame on her.”
