This is the moment a motorist decked a petrol pump assistant when he roared off in his high-powered motor without paying.

The service station worker had been filling the Ford Mustang with petrol when the driver sped off without paying.

But CCTV footage from the forecourt shows the nozzle was still attacked to his filler cap and snapped backward knocking the assistant right off her feet.

The footage – recorded in Jintang, Sichuan Province, south-west China on 24th May – is now being studied by police.

A nearby car rental company later realised that the car had been hired from them after seeing the video on social media.

They said the driver had returned it with a damaged filler cap and claimed it had been caused by fuel thieves.
