SHIP SHAPED: New Ghostly Image Of Sunken Sub On Doomed Final Journey

This is the spooky moment when a driver sees the ghostly image of a doomed submarine that sank with all hands nearly six years ago.

Argentina’s San Juan sub disappeared beneath the South Atlantic Ocean after hydrogen in its faulty battery system exploded without warning.

All 44 officers and crew died in the huge blast, which sent the sub nearly 3,000 feet down to the bottom of the ocean.

But an astonished driver has shared an image he saw as he was driving towards Mar del Plata, the port the San Juan was heading for when it sank.

An outline – apparently formed by clouds – bears an uncanny likeness to the stricken sub.

With the caption ‘Me and my imagination’, the snap was posted on social media on 28th January.

He wrote: “I am from Batan and at that time I was travelling to Mar del Plata. When I saw her in the clouds, that image immediately came to mind.”

The San Juan disappeared on 15th November 2017.

Almost exactly a year later – on 16th November 2018 – its wreck was found at a depth of 907 metres nearly 270 nautical miles from Comodoro Rivadavia.

A 2019 report stated that the crew of the sub died instantly in a hydrogen explosion following a fault in its batteries.

The San Juan was a 34-year-old German-built diesel-electric submarine that was refitted between 2007 and 2014.

The disaster resulted in the sacking of Argentine navy chief Marcelo Srur.
