A six-year-old boy has gone viral after his hilarious antics during his baptism – during which he said to the priest “You don’t know how to baptise, do you?”

Davi Henrique Araujo Sousa was baptised in the city of Vitoria da Conquista in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Bahia on Sunday, 25th July.

His uncle, Caio Sousa, posted a video of the baptism on TikTok and it quickly went viral, racking up 8.1 million views and garnering 579,800 ‘likes’ to date.

The video, filmed in the Rainha da Paz (Queen of Peace) Parish Church, shows six-year-old Davi Henrique hilariously interrupting Deacon Genildo as he baptises him.

The cheeky youngster can be heard telling the deacon: “Don’t grab my head, it hurts, mister. You don’t know how to baptise, do you?”

As the deacon pours water onto his head, Davi Henrique continues: “Hey, mister! Help me here, people! He’s got my whole outfit wet, goddamn it!”

The boy’s family members can be heard chuckling but also lightly reprimanding him, with one saying “Don’t talk to the priest like that” in the background.

After the baptism is over, the priest can be heard humorously asking the youngster: “I don’t know how to baptise, do I, Davi?” To which he cheekily replies to laughter from those present: “You don’t, no.”

Davi Henrique later told news site G1: “I got very scared because I’m afraid of water. Of showering, too. He almost drowned me.”
