Reports said that the mother was helped by three officers who got on the bus at Puente La Noria.

The cops helped to deliver the newborn, who the mother has named Milagros (Miracles), and the bouncing baby girl reportedly weighed 3.3 kilogrammes (7.3 lbs).

Both mother and baby are reportedly doing well.

The unusual incident was filmed by a bus passenger who posted the footage on social media where it has been widely shared.

In the video, the mother is seen sitting on a bus seat with her legs closed after just giving birth to the baby, who is being cradled by the male officer.

A pair of scissors is passed to a WPC wearing disposable gloves who then cuts the tot’s umbilical cord.

The crying newborn is then passed to her mum who bounces her in her arms.
