This is the moment a huge water tornado is filmed off the coast of the city of Dubrovnik and it appears to bend towards the shore in an apparent resemblance to the leaning tower of Pisa.

The video was recorded after record-breaking storms hit the coast of Croatia last week with winds as high as 143 kph and the Adriatic’s highest-ever wave recorded. Dubrovnik is a tourist hotspot famous for being the location of King’s Landing in the hit series Game of Thrones.

In the video, the water tornado can be seen just off the coast bending into a cloud. Water appears to be being drawn high into the air by the vortex.

The video was posted by local radion station ‘Dalmacija’ on social media.

Netizens were wowed by the sight sich as ‘Jelena Budic’ wrote: “A nice and scary sight.”

And ‘Katia Smitran’ added: “What natural power does, a nice scene but not be messed around with.”

While ‘Daniela Karanusic’ added: “The end of the world.”

During the storms, the Croatian Hydrographic Institute reported a record wave in the Adriatic which they measured at a maximum height of 10.87 metres (35.66 feet) in the waters off Dubrovnik near St Andrew’s island.
