This is the shocking moment a 22-year-old woman is hit by an SUV while using a pedestrian crossing and is sent spinning in the air before ricocheting off a car on the other side of the road.
The incident was filmed on Mayakovskogo Street in the city of Bryansk in the western Russian region of Bryansk Oblast and was later shared on social media where it has been viewed over 210,000 times.
In the footage, the young woman is seen wearing a pink jacket as she starts to cross the road in front of a stationary bus.
An oncoming Renault Sandero hits the woman head-on and sends her spinning through the air before she crashes into a car on the other side of the road and ends up under the wheels of the SUV.
The 60-year-old SUV owner and the female driver of the red car get out of their vehicles to check on the motionless woman.
According to reports, the young victim survived the accident but she has been hospitalised in a serious condition.
Local media said that she was using a pedestrian crossing at the time which was only marked with signs and not zebra lines.
The investigation continues.
Netizen ‘SashaAn’ said: “Even though it is clear who is to blame for this accident, she should not have been crossing the street like that.”
‘Whatever’ commented: “She had no fear when crossed the busy street. Drivers should always remember that there are pedestrians like her on the roads.”
