Two young boys have died and their pregnant mother was injured after she lost control of her car while swerving to avoid two idiot bikers doing wheelies on the road.

The trio was returning from the boys’ grandma’s house when the incident took place, causing the vehicle to leave the road and overturn several times in the Brazilian municipality of Alcantil on 31st January.

The eldest boy, 8, died at the scene. His younger brother, 4, was rushed to hospital in the nearby municipality of Campina Grande, but he succumbed to his injuries and died later the same day.

Their pregnant mother, Aristia Nathally Pereira da Silva, 32, was also rushed to hospital and had to undergo surgery. At the time of reporting, her condition was stable.

Family and friends have been sending messages of condolences to Aristia and the boys’ father Givanildo Pereira on social media.

The victim’s relative Jennifer Silva wrote: “Everything becomes meaningless when a mother loses her child… May God help you find a way to move forward and may your faith give you reason to believe. Your children will always be with you, no matter what happens.”

The investigation is ongoing.
