Cops are searching for the body of this 13-year-old girl after a suspect reportedly said he had hit her with his car and threw her body in a river.

Thirteen-year-old Elizaveta Chernova was reportedly killed as she was on her way home from a school party in the village of Bokino in the Tambov District, in western Russia’s Tambov Oblast region on 7th March.

The teenager had reportedly been told to be home before 10 pm and was on her way home when Alexander Lipatov, 35, says he accidentally hit her with his car.

Lipatov told cops he had been scared of what he had done and so threw the girl’s body in a nearby river, according to reports.

He reportedly went to the area where he said he had thrown the body with investigators but the girl’s body could not be found.

Lipatov remains under pre-trial detention as the investigation is ongoing.

An unnamed friend of the victim’s mother told reporters: “She was never late home, never drank any alcohol, that’s why her mother alarmed the police and people in the first few minutes when she didn’t come home.”

It is unclear if the suspect has been charged.
