These photos show a stainless steel tube stuck in a three-year-old boy’s mouth that left him bleeding after he fell onto it.

The disturbing incident took place in the city of Hezhou in south China’s Guangxi Province when Xiao Ming, three, fell to the ground at home and his father says he heard a painful scream from his son.

The father, who has not been named in reports, told local media: “I didn’t know where he had found that 10-centimetre (four-inch) metal tube. When I ran to my son, I saw a long tube was inserted into his mouth and he was bleeding.”

The youngster’s parents immediately took their son to Hezhou People Hospital in an emergency.

Images show how the stainless steel tube, measuring around three centimetres (one inch) in diameter, had gone into his gum and around one centimetre into the roof of his mouth.

Fortunately, the tube was not inserted into the skull and did not pose a risk to the tot’s life.

Doctor Qiu Weicheng told reporters: “It was very urgent. The tube was inserted quite deep and tight. A lot of tissue was damaged by the tube. But luckily Xiao Ming’s brain is not hurt.”

The doctors managed to successfully remove the tube from the boy’s mouth.
