This young woman has been arrested for shooting her successful comic artist boyfriend dead with her cop dad’s gun following a row.

The incident took place at the couple’s apartment in the Brazilian city of Santarem on the night of Monday 21st June.

Paramedics were called to the scene, where they found the dead body of 25-year-old Matteo Santos with a gunshot wound to the head, another to the jaw, and another to the hand.

According to one of the first responders, the victim’s head had been deformed by the gunshot.

The police also arrived on the scene, where they found the suspect’s girlfriend, Raquel Travassos. She was arrested for firing the fatal shots and taken to the local police station.

Officers also confiscated the pistol used to commit the crime, which they say belongs to the suspect’s father, who is an auxiliary police officer.

According to the police, the couple had a row the night before the crime.

The couple’s neighbours told the police how Matteo left the house with Raquel’s belongings and dumped them on the pavement in the early hours.

They saw Raquel storming off, but she is believed to have returned to the apartment armed with her dad’s pistol the following morning.

In the hours between the row and the crime, she posted a clip of herself humming a breakup song through tears to social media.

She also posted a number of photos declaring her love for her boyfriend, who worked as a designer and illustrator.

According to police chief Lucivelton Ferreira, who is the victim’s uncle, the pair’s relationship was troubled, despite having only started recently.
