Two hitmen have shot dead this young mother of a four-month-old baby in her house before escaping on a motorbike.
According to local media, the murder took place in the neighbourhood of San Luis in the city of Concepcion in the department with the same name in central Paraguay.
Reports state Raquel Ruiz Delvalle, a 28-year-old mother of a four-month-old baby, was at her house around 11 a.m. with her cousin when two men arrived at her door asking for a woman named Veronica Ortiz.
Then after the victim answered she had not heard that name before one of the two men reportedly pushed her to the floor and shot her several times.
Forensic doctor Robero Barrios told local media: “The victim has minor bullet injuries in her head and in her face but they were probably caused before the bullets ended in her thorax-”
Reports said she suffered five bullet wounds from a .38 calibre gun which caused 11 injuries to her body.
The two murderers reportedly escaped on a motorbike after shooting the woman while her cousin called the neighbours asking for help.
The woman was transferred to a hospital but doctors could not save her life.
Local authorities have arrested two men who are suspected of having murdered the young mother as they were allegedly caught driving a car with a bag containing a .38 calibre gun and several pieces of clothing with blood on them.
The suspects have been named as Fabio Arguello, 22, and Cristhian Damian Ayala, 28. Both of them have police records for robbery and they are now under police custody.
The General Attorney has told local media they are still unable to establish the motive of the murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
