This is the moment firefighters rescue a young girl who has somehow managed to trap her entire head inside a plastic pipe.

The one-year-old girl from Shenzhen, a city in China’s southern province of Guangdong, ‘curiously’ put her head into the plastic pipe purchased for renovations, the fire service reported.

The tot’s panicking parents were not able to remove the pipe from the crying girl’s head and decided to call the authorities in order not to harm her.

Firefighters arrived at the residential building where she lived yesterday (26th March) afternoon and found the child’s head trapped inside the white PVC pipe.

According to the rescuers, they advised the parents to stay calm and convince the girl to sleep, allowing firefighters to inspect the inside of the pipe.

After determining that there was sufficient space between the girl’s chin and neck, they decided to cut the pipe apart.

A piece of clothing and thin metal sheet were placed inside the pipe to protect the girl, whose ears were filled with cotton wool in order to reduce the noise of their tool.

In the footage, firefighters can be seen cutting through the pipe using an angle grinder.

The girl begins crying as the rescue, which took all but 10 minutes, nears its end.

The child is finally free and was not hurt, rescuers reported.
