This is the moment a young girl hides in a cardboard box and falls asleep, sparking a frantic search by her parents.

The incident took place in the city of Pingdingshan in Henan Province located in central China on Wednesday 6th October.

The footage shows a young girl climbing into a cardboard box and closing the flaps while her father sits in front of a computer and does not notice anything.

A few moments later, the young girl’s mother enters the room and appears to look for her.

However, as she is nowhere to be seen, her concerned parents begin to panic and frantically search for their missing daughter.

The pair leaves the room and continues their search before returning empty-handed. According to local media reports, the worried parents, who have not been named, even went over to the neighbour’s house in search of their daughter.

But all is well that ends well after the young girl is found by her father in the cardboard box having fallen asleep.

He can be seen going back into the room and looking thoughtfully at the cardboard box for a couple of seconds before he opens it and finds the young girl.
