Young Footballer Beaten Nearly To Death For Celebrating A Goal

This is the shocking moment a 22-year-old footballer is left fighting for his life after getting beaten by the opposing team for celebrating the goal he scored.

Although celebrating a goal is a part of every match, for Colombian player Anderson Salas, it turned into the opposite when he scored a goal during a match played on the La Conchita field in Texcoco, Mexico.

As can be seen in the video, players from the opposing team subjected him to a brutal beating that left him fighting for his life.

Salas was rushed to hospital after he wound up in a coma after the beating on 6th September.

Disturbing footage shows players of the opposing team, dressed in white, shoving Anderson to the ground, and slapping and kicking him as he struggles to get away.

Some members of Anderson’s team appear to be trying to pull him away and get involved in the brawl but they are outnumbered.

The 22-year-old athlete, originally from Maicao, eventually received a severe blow to his head that caused him to fall into a coma.

Currently, he remains hospitalised at the Santo Nino de Atocha medical centre.

His mother, Ana Jackeline Salas, was unable to see him for six days due to documentation issues that prevented her from travelling to the foreign country.

She pleaded with users on social media for financial assistance to go and take care of her son, who is alone in Mexican territory.

She said: “Several young people assaulted him, brutally mistreated him, and left him in a coma.

“I am desperate. I am asking to leave the country to find my son.”

Ana Jackeline pleaded for justice and said that she has no family there, except for the friends who know him as a young man who went in pursuit of a dream.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the heartbroken mum was later able to travel to Mexico on 12th September to be by her son’s side.

She told local media that Anderson dreamed of becoming a great athlete and had a powerful left foot.

She recalled that her son’s passion for football dates back to his childhood, when he used to accompany her to her training sessions as a female football player when she played for the Police del Cesar team.

However, due to a lack of support, her son was not able to fully dedicate himself to this activity.

Ana Jackeline, who now works as a sports coordinator, said: “People started to get to know him there and realised his talent.

“That’s when Professor Julian Chávez from the municipality of Granadas provided us with the help and contacts he had for him to go to Medellin and from there to Mexico.”

His career began in the third division with the America de Mexico team and then he joined the Toros Neza team.

Just hours before her reunion with her son, she said she felt a lot of anxiety and has limited information about him.

She has not been able to communicate much due to finalising travel details.

The mum added: “I’ve only talked to the club about health-related matters; nothing more.

“Now, I need to be there to file a lawsuit and deal with what comes next.

“The only thing that matters to me is my son’s health.”
