A young couple who married six months ago has been tragically killed in a motorbike accident in northern Italy.
Boris and Cristina Danu, 29 and 26 years old respectively, were killed when the motorbike they were on collided with a Fiat Panda in the city of Ferrara in the northern Italian province of the same name on the night of 24th August.
The accident took place at the intersection of Canapa and De Vincenzi streets outside the city centre at around 11 pm.
According to the news site la Repubblica, the couple of Moldovan origin, who only wed six months ago and had lived in Ferrara for many years, were killed on the spot.
The local authorities sent three ambulances and a rescue helicopter from Bologna to the scene along with local police teams.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Fiat Panda, named not reported, was taken to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and tried in vain to resuscitate the young couple, who were believed to be travelling to the city centre when the accident took place.
Boris worked as a courier and his wife was a waitress.
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
