This is the moment Chilean protesters push a new vehicle through the first-floor window of a car showroom as a mob cheers outside.

The incident was filmed in the city of Vina del Mar in the central Chilean province of Valparaiso when the protesters broke into the Cartoni dealership and pushed a car through an upper floor glass window as a crowd cheers from ground level.

Several people are heard saying “We can do it, we can do it!”

According to the local emergency services, the mob set the facilities on fire after they left the building, causing significant damage.

No arrests have been reported yet.

Several protests against President Sebastian Pinera’s government took place this week during the 2020 Vina del Mar International Song Festival, which has been held in the city every February since 1960.

The recent wave of violence reportedly led to the arrest of 24 protesters while several buildings, including the historic Hotel O’Higgins, suffered arson attacks.

The unrest was sparked by announced travel price hikes, but soon descended into ongoing anti-government protests about rising inequality in the South American country.
