This is the moment firefighters help a soot-covered boy after he became stuck in a chimney while allegedly trying to burgle a house.
The incident was filmed in the district of Albaicin in the city of Granada located in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, and was later shared on Twitter by the Local Police.
The footage shows firefighters helping the soot-covered boy, whose name and age were not reported, take off his clothes after they rescued him from the chimney.
Reports said that the emergency services were called to the property at around 8.50am when eyewitnesses saw someone trying to enter through the chimney.
When the cops arrived, they heard a voice yelling for help from inside the vent and the firefighters were called to the scene.
According to local media, the fire brigade had to break into the property as the owners were not home at the time and then dismantle part of the chimney’s stonework to remove the metal shaft and rescue the young lad trapped inside.
When the boy was rescued, he reportedly admitted that he was attempting to rob the house when he got stuck.
Reports said the boy was arrested by the police and then taken to hospital for checks.
The boy, who has a previous criminal record, only suffered minor injuries, according to local media.
