This footage shows a young boy who attempted China’s bizarre new ‘Perfect Figure Challenge’ with his head trapped between two metal posts and having to be rescued.
These bizarre metal posts have apparently been erected in tourist spots all over the country and the challenge is now going viral online, the idea being to see if a person is thin enough to slip between the bars.

The ‘Perfect Figure Challenge’, which has been trending during China’s National Day holidays, sees participants squeezing through increasingly narrow gaps in order to measure how skinny they are.
The bizarre trend has been led to the construction of numerous measuring ‘gates’ at crowded tourist spots and shopping centres.

The boy from the city of Puyang in Central China’s Henan Province appears to have managed to squeeze through all the gaps apart from the last one, where he finds himself unable to free his head from between the metal posts.
Video taken by the local fire service shows the embarrassed boy having to wait for rescuers, who arrive with a hydraulic tool to widen the metal posts and free his head.
The operation took several minutes, with the boy’s head covered with a towel before being slid out the gap.
The Perfect Figure Challenge has been used by Chinese businesses for promotional purposes too.
Restaurants, for example, have offered customers various discounts based on how skinny they are.
