This is one commuter’s tent-sational response to the new wave of COVID infections sweeping through China.
The subway passenger was filmed by other baffled train users as he travelled through Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
His DIY anti-COVID isolation tent seems to be held in place by some sort of umbrella sun hat attached to his head.
Then a series of rings and pipes keep the thick plastic sheeting from clinging to his body.
His invention certainly seemed to work, as no other passenger apparently dared to sit anywhere near him.

China recently lifted tough restrictions following a wave of protests at COVID lockdowns, with the result that many people have since become infected.
Local media reported that the man on the subway was named Mr Yu and he said that although he sometimes gets taunted, he does not care, because he says his health is more important than anything.
He said that he also continued to use the tent when he was out on the street as it also provided protection from the sun.

He said that the isolation tent was one that he had built himself using a giant sun hat, plastic pipes and polythene sheets.
