German runner Alica Schmidt – dubbed the world’s sexiest athlete – has revealed that she enjoys chocolate and unhealthy snacks as she gears up for her “biggest goal” of competing at the European Championships this summer.
The 23-year-old blonde, who boasts 2.8 million followers on Instagram, held a Q&A session with her online fans and answered questions about her childhood, habits, and aspirations.
With the European Athletics Championships being held in Munich in her home country this summer, Schmidt said she hopes to qualify for the 400 metres.
She said: “It’s my biggest goal! The qualification is in the summer and it would be a dream to compete in front of a home crowd filled with family and friends.”
Schmidt, who said she “never really enjoyed endurance runs” of 800 metres of more, told her Insta fans that she used to “celebrate a lot” in her childhood because she “didn’t take the sport as seriously then as I do now”.
However, it is not all work and no play for the Potsdam native, who admitted that she loves chocolate and other unhealthy snacks a lot.
She told one fan that she finds it hard to stick to diets so she rewards herself with a small treat every day, adding that she does not count calories.
Schmidt said: “I eat intuitively and perform very well with it.”
The German runner added that she eats between 3,000 and 3,500 calories a day “depending on the day’s workout”.
Alcohol is also off the table for the blonde stunner who admitted: “I rarely drink because I don’t really like alcohol.”
Schmidt, who recently finished second in the 400 metres at the German Athletics Indoor Championships 2022, revealed that she runs her own social media pages and “answers messages, posts photos/stories, replies to comments, and everything concerned with content planning”.
She said she only uses a manager to deal with email traffic and contract negotiations.
Schmidt also revealed that she hopes to become a mother one day even if she does not see herself settling down in the coming years due to her dream of achieving success on the track.
