In the video, two workers can be seen holding the ends of a long rope with a hammer tied to the middle of it.

One of the workers is on the roof of a university building with his colleague standing on the ground and they use the rope to swing the hammer into the wall.

The hammer breaks off some of the tiles used to give the effect of bricks, and the workers then continue chipping away using the bizarre method.

The video was posted online with the caption “note that this is an engineering school”.

The clip received more than 1,500 comments on social media with netizen ‘Hugo Lopez’ commenting: “Sooner or later there will be a small fragment that will be difficult to reach and somebody will need to climb up there”.

‘Daniel Borjas’ added: “Seems ladders have not arrived in that poor area”.

‘Liliana Hidalgo’ said: “Good engineering… very modern”.

Reports state the workers are believed to have been working on the wall for a while because of the amount of debris seen on the ground.
